Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

CampussBiz runs an online shop, a student marketplace and a services board for university students in Ghana. We decide how your personal information is used, which makes us the data controller.

2. What we collect and why

Account details: your name, phone number, student email and password (stored only as a one-way scrambled hash). We use them to create your account, sign you in and send verification codes.

Delivery details: your city, campus, hostel and room, and contact number. We use them to deliver your orders and to show you nearby listings.

Orders and payments: what you bought, the amounts and the payment reference. Card and Mobile Money details are entered with our payment provider, Paystack, and never reach our servers.

Marketplace and chat: listings you post, messages you send, bookings and ratings. Other users see your listings, your first name or business name, and your ratings.

For vendors: your business name, category, photos, and an optional ID document. The ID is stored privately and opened only by CampussBiz administrators reviewing your application.

Technical data: your approximate IP address, used to stop abuse such as repeated sign-in attempts.

3. Who we share it with

Only the companies that help us run the service, and only what each needs: Supabase (database and photo storage), Paystack (payments), Mnotify (text messages), our email provider, Google (optional sign-in and the JULIET assistant) and Vercel (hosting). Some of them process data outside Ghana. We do not sell your information.

Sellers see your delivery details only for an order you placed with them. We may share information if the law requires it.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your account while it is open. Order and payment records are kept for as long as accounting and consumer-protection rules require. You can ask us to delete your account; some records may have to be kept.

5. How we protect it

Connections are encrypted, passwords are hashed, private documents sit in a private store, and administrator actions are recorded. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can object to how it is used. Contact us using the details on the Help page and we will respond within a reasonable time.

7. Children

CampussBiz is meant for university students. If you believe someone under 18 has signed up, please tell us.
